2021 Mazda CX-9 100th Anniversary Edition

While Mazda started out late in this part of the world, about 50 years ago, the company just recently celebrated its 100th anniversary. And a century of excellence is something to celebrate. That’s why the company offers different anniversary editions of its products to mark the occasion. With the Mazda CX-9, the additions to the model are really interesting. They show how much Mazda wanted to immortalize the moment in an important way. In fact, L’Ami Junior Mazda in Chicoutimi, in the heart of the Saguenay region, offers you a special edition to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Mazda manufacturer. Explore our complete inventory of new Mazda vehicles. Your dealer has also certified used cars in Chicoutimi to offer you many more years on the road. As for the Mazda CX-9 100th Anniversary Edition that we offer, let’s take a look at the model and its particular features.

THE BIGGEST ONE

The CX-9 is the largest model in the Mazda lineup.

This SUV offers room for seven passengers and for those who need to carry more stuff, its cargo space is very generous. Behind the third row of seats, it amounts to 407 litres. Behind the second row, 1082 litres. And when all the seats are folded down, except for the first row, of course, it’s 2017 litres! In short, whatever your needs, the CX-9 is configured to meet them. What’s more, if you need to tow, the CX-9’s capacity is set at 1588 kg, or 3500 pounds.

A POWERFUL ENGINE

To power its CX-9, Mazda didn’t skimp and reserved its most powerful engine for it.

The unit in question is a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, which offers a minimum output of 227 horsepower and a maximum thrust of 250 hp. How do you explain this difference? Simple: the company’s engineers and thinkers wanted to give consumers an option. For those who don’t need the extra power, they can simply fill their CX-9 with regular gasoline. On the other hand, those who want to take advantage of the maximum capacity of the engine simply have to choose 93-octane fuel. As for torque, the difference is minimal; 310 lb-ft with regular gas, 320 lb-ft with premium. A six-speed automatic transmission was chosen to transmit the power to all four wheels. Its work is as efficient as it is discrete. As a bonus, fuel consumption is an extraordinary 9.1L/100km on the highway.

AT THE WHEEL

When behind the wheel, the Mazda CX-9 is without a doubt the most fun-to-drive SUV in its segment.

Frankly, you never feel like you’re behind the wheel of such a massive vehicle. And that’s what makes the experience so enjoyable, because instead of a clunky, heavy cruiser, you get an agile, sporty SUV

THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION

The Mazda CX-9 SUV can be served in six different ways, which is fantastic for consumers because there are so many choices.

There is the GS, GS-L, GT, Kuro, Signature and 100th Anniversary Edition models. With the latter, you get everything in terms of equipment and more, because it has some unique features. With a 100th anniversary model, you get, among other things, red nappa leather seats, embossed 100th anniversary logo headrests, embossed floor mats, front centre console armrest with white trim and light gray stitching, pure white front and rear door panels, 100th anniversary logos on the body, including celebratory centre caps. The model even comes with a remote control embossed with the logo, packed in a special presentation box. On top of that is, of course, everything you’d find at the top of the lineup, from heated front seats, a navigation system, LED headlights and lights, a 360-degree rearview camera, and much more.

If the Mazda CX-9 has been on your shopping list, there’s no better time than now to get it, especially for the anniversary edition that is just passing through.
